  • Food food and more food

Thanks to the perks afforded by a certain social media company to the putty, we've been eating out at more places.

I think it makes the putty very happy, but sweetie, please remember we gotta watch the junk in our trunks! Easier for you to lose since you're still in your 20s, harder for old folks like me! :D

Ok there... i've updated as requested. Off to bed now. Meds kicking in (and think i'm just tired from a non-productive day really).

  • July 2011 was pretty phenomenal.

5th July 2011. Venus and I fulfilled a 16 years dream of seeing Take That perform.

We'd missed their performance in Singapore 1995 as a 4-some, so we did 1 up from the rest.
We flew to London to see them perform at Wembley as a 5-some! Yes. With Robbie Williams in tow.

Not the most glamourous shot, but this will do for now.
The whole experience was amazing. We experienced a typical English summer (rain, sun, rain, thunderstorm) which added to the kickass concert.
Ok the weather was shite, but the concert was really kickass!

    One bucket list down! Whoop!

Next day, Venus, Andrea, Jasmine and I made our way down to Fifteen for a scrumptious lunch Jamie. Again in the rain.

    All good nonetheless.

7th July - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow, Part 2, London Worldwide Premiere.

The end of a 10 years relationship with Harry, Hermione and Ron.

Ah yes, saw Darren Criss too.

After the premiere, the whole group of 9 decided to go check out... this really ulu, but uber cool bar along Gerard Street.
Thank god for my companions' contacts, we got a table reservation. Awesome cocktails!

Good times. London. I'll see you soon once again.

  • Massive Food Comas

So it is... I have officially entered my 30's. No longer 20s or 30. But 30s. * balk*

Still, it was a good birthday. Kay put in a lot of effort into making it special for me.

There was the last minute lunch and then the surprise dinner at Sun @ Chijmes, which turned out really hilarious cos who knew the next table was celebrating her birthday too! That was the start of food coma #1. Btw loving my present too! Neckache no more hopefully!

The best birthday surprise was the next day...

After months of badgering, it turns out she got us tickets to Lion King!
GREAT seats in the house! I could poke the elephants as they walk past. Totally mindblowing. heart

Friday, Sa & Gwen brought me to another plc which I've wanted to try for the longest time, Cocotte.
The chicken was amazing and the pork was super soft. Luckily I stopped the girls from over-ordering. However that still din stop me from finishing most of the food cos there were just too much for 4 girls! Food coma #2 ensued after that...

Weekend getaway to beach resort was sweet. Pesky kids and annoying adults aside, it was blissful to just lie by the pool, soak some rays, waddle about in the waters, read a book and chill with a drink in hand.

Our ability to laze amazes me. Once back at the room, despite our best intentions, we never made it out for dinner. We channel surfed, snacked on beer & chips and subsequently knocked out like pigs. Food coma took a rest that weekend.

Monday - cos the brother won some $, he treated the whole family to dinner (also birthday treat somewhat) @ Paradise Inn. The dumplings were amazing! So colourful and so pretty. Yummy too! Food coma #3.

X-Men: First Class on Wednesday. Not so much of a food coma, but FINALLY satisfied my salty popcorn craving when the girl bought it for me. Top it off with sinful coke...simply wonderful (as u can tell, I'm not much of a junk food, soft drink person, but I do have my moments).

Friday, while wandering about, we ended up at Overeasy. Perhaps the various food comas over the week left the girl a tad weak. 1 beer later, she was ready to concuss!

If not for prior arrangement, I doubt we'll make it out on Saturday in the storm. And to Tanglin Mall no less! The sandbags were out. Entrances were blocked. People were sipping coffee at Starbucks waiting for the great flood, which (un)fortunately did not happen. At most, there were just puddles of water. Mic wanted to treat, so we had Chili's. One appetizer & main to share between 3 girls. Think we were ready to snooze after that meal! Food coma #4.

We never made it to Science Center like we said we wanted to after that. Heck we barely even made it to town for an hour before deciding we had to come home to rest!

Today we went Wild Honey with the Chaoyang & friends & a lil baby. We waited for almost 2 hours! Madess! But it was well worth the ridiculous wait in the end. My European breakkie was heavenly. Thank you lovelies for the awesome breakkie (lunchtime by the time we got the table) and present! That was food coma #5. Quality time spent with the friends.

I don't think I can think of food for a while...the tummy is expanding and I'm not doing anything about it. But I think we've planned our food for next weekend. Heh.
